Matière Noire — Spatial Design Studio Portfolio Website, Kirby CMS and Development

A visual index for a spatial design studio

Matière Noire is a Paris-based creative studio working across spatial design, scenography, interiors, retail, installations, set design, events and exhibitions. The studio already had a website, but it no longer reflected the maturity and range of the practice. A new portfolio was needed to communicate the work with more clarity while keeping the studio's atmospheric sensibility.

Basile Fournier Studio defined the art direction, visual identity and logo. Parc extended that direction into a complete digital system — designing the website structure, interface, interactions, development and Kirby CMS — so the studio could publish and update its portfolio over time without depending on outside help for ongoing content updates.

The site opens directly onto a dynamic grid of large landscape and portrait images. Projects appear through a blur-to-clear logic that evokes light gradually revealing a space, connecting the interface to Matière Noire's spatial language. From this index, visitors move between images, text, about, press and individual project pages through a simple structure.

The new portfolio gives the studio a clearer and more mature public form, structured but not rigid, professional but not corporate, atmospheric without becoming obscure. The Kirby CMS lets the team keep the archive alive as the practice evolves across new spatial, scenographic and cultural projects.
