Schema Magazine — Independent Editorial Platform Website, Digital Chemin de Fer and E-commerce

A digital "chemin de fer" for an independent publication

Schema Magazine, founded by Sara Bastai, is an interdisciplinary editorial platform exploring contemporary issues through visual stories made by artists and contributors. With the release of its first issue, the project needed a website to introduce the magazine and sell it online, without giving away the full content of the printed publication for free.

Parc conceived and developed a website inspired by the chemin de fer used by editors during layout development. Instead of translating the magazine into articles, the site presents the publication as a continuous vertical sequence of spreads, allowing visitors to experience the rhythm and narrative structure of the issue at a glance.

All spreads appear as a central column on a single scrolling page. Clicking a spread expands it, pushing the surrounding pages aside before returning to the flow. Most spreads stay obscured through scanned blur and a discreet watermark, preserving the print value. A chapter navigation highlights as readers scroll.

At the end of the sequence, a simple shop lets visitors choose between three covers and purchase the issue.

The platform aligns Schema with independent publishing culture, treating the magazine as a printed object first and a digital presence second, without reducing it to a standard editorial feed.
